My daffodils finally blossomed and then they got coverd with snow. The poor things were lying flat on the ground so I picked them and put them in these antique bottles.
I noticed these three "faces" on the back of my classroom door. I took my seniors on a field trip to see them and got various responses: aliens, bats, owls, frowny faces, foxes.
Today's assignment at Picture Spring was to take a picture of a project we are in the middle of. Since April is National Poetry Month, I'm participating in NaPoWriMo (National Poetry Writing Month). That means I have to write 30 poems in 30 days. Sometimes I like to read poems to get inspired. I picked up this book of contemporary sonnets today at Borders.
Our prompt today for Picture Spring was to photograph circles.
My husband is in the middle of redoing a 1955 Harley for our son and there are motorcycle parts everywhere. These were on my hutch this morning. Notice how he pushed my tea cup out of the way!
My goddaughter, Stacey, gave us this gorp a couple years ago. It took today's prompt from Picture Spring (find hidden encouragement) for me to really look at the tag.
My niece, Michelle, took this tonight. I took some pictures, too, but thought I'd post this one since it shows my mom and her four kids. L to R: Nancy, Sally, me, and Tim.
It's 10 pm. I didn't take any pictures today. So, I reached for my camera and just snapped what I could see. This is the reflection of my bureau and feet in my closet mirror.
Kylie is staying overnight and I got busy reading to her and forgot to post this last night.
Yesterday's assignment at picture Spring was to take a picture of an everyday sight. I looked in my cupboard and saw these champagne glasses that we never use but that I see everyday. These were wedding gifts to my mom and dad 62 years ago.
The assignment at Picture Spring today was to take a picture of some pastels. I love hanging my clothes out because they smell so fresh when I take them in.
For Picture Spring we had to place our camera on the ground and snap away. I didn't have much luck; this was the best of the bunch. I didn't know there was a weed growing in the grass but I'm glad I found it.
Today's assignment at Picture Spring is to take 30 steps in any direction and take a picture of what we see. I went outside and 30 steps took me to the edge of the driveway. I snapped a bare tree, a weedy garden, the dead lawn. Then looked straight down and saw this feather just lying there like a gift.
For the second day of Picture Spring, our prompt was to photograph something about our morning ritual. This is my breakfast: 1 slice of homemade whole wheat toast with turkey breast, a glass of water, and a banana.
I know this looks similar to a picture I posted last week of the daffodils but it's where I was sitting this morning when I read the new prompt for today.
I started an online photography workshop today called Picture Spring. Our first prompt was to take a picture of something that symbolizes new beginnings to us. I went for a walk through the Smith Hydro Park not expecting to see any green shoots but was surpised to see these poking out like flames.
